Private lessons give students the opportunity to enjoy one-on-one instruction with the flexibility of individualized scheduling. The study of a musical instrument throughout junior high and high school improves academic performance and self esteem.

Scientific research has shown a link to students who study musical instruments to higher college enrollment and placement. The study of a musical instrument also demonstrates academic versatility which will be recognized when applying for college.

We offer private musical instruction in the following instruments: guitar. percussion, double bass, piano, voice, flute, and violin. Instruction for all instruments is available in all popular and traditional style including jazz, rock, pop, blues, and classical.

Flute
Flute lessons will cover proper breathing, correct hand and body position, embouchure, as well as reading music and rhythm. Any level of playing is acceptable from beginners to advanced players. Students will learn to produce a strong tone and will learn a solid technique through scales and various studies. A wide range of solo repertoire will also be emphasized. There is also the possibility to perform in recitals and play in ensembles with other flute students.

Guitar
Guitar is a popular late-blooming instrument for students to begin during junior high and high school. Students can learn any style of their choosing from Bach to Nirvana or Segovia to Wes Montgomery. Students learn fundamental note reading and guitar technique while learning to play and transribe their own music. All guitar lessons are private which allow students to learn and excel at their own pace.

Violin
In the violin lessons, students will learn the proper position for holding the instrument and bow, bow technique, proper finger placement, tone production and note reading. The focus will be on learning the solo literature. Students will learn traditional note reading with either classical or folk literature.

Voice
Another popular instrument to begin studying in junior high and high school. Vocal training will teach basic musicianship and ear-training, breath support, pitch control and note reading. Singing is a fundamental part of musical theater training. Students will have the opportunity to gain performance experience and self-confidence by participating in student recitals.

Drums
Beginner through advanced students will learn Rock, Jazz, and Blues techniques. Drums are great accompaniment to many genres of music and are a great instrument for anyone. Drum lessons are great for students who have their own drums at home and wish to be in a band with their friends.

Bass/Double Bass
All Styles of music have and need a bass. In bass lessons, learn any style of your choosing from jazz to classical to pop/rock. Students learn either upright or bass guitar techniques. There may also be opportunities for students to perform with other students.
